Samplepalooza is an annual, one day, synoptic nutrient monitoring event in the Connecticut River watershed that was held in 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, and 2020. This event is coordinated by the Connecticut River Conservancy (CRC) and samples collected by volunteers and professionals alike. Sites near the mouths of tributaries to and along the length of the Connecticut River are sampled for total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus(TP). TN and TP are of major concern to the Connecticut River watershed due to their influence on algal blooms within the watershed and Long Island Sound (LIS) which is the receiving body of water for the Connecticut River.
