Join us to enjoy rivers at these in-person and virtual gatherings. Engage with CRC’s efforts to restore, protect, and enhance our waterways! Events are added throughout the year and revised as needed.

Walk/bike/wander at various points along the Whetstone Brook to learn about the history and health of the Brook and its flourishing fishery. 

Join CRC River Steward, Kathy Urffer, and Water Way(s) partner, Erin Maile O’Keefe, for a day on the Whetstone Brook to talk about what’s happening at various sites along the waterway, understand river dynamics, and learn how water quality testing is done.  Join us at one stop or come along for all.  Erin and Kathy will be moving from one stop to the next by bike. Feel free to join us on your bike or meet us on the hour at each stop. 

 

9:00 am – headwaters at Hidden Lake (corner of Rt 9 and Church Hollow Road)
10:00 am – meet at 169 Marlboro Road, Brattleboro
11:00 am – Melrose Terrace – meet at Academy School Parking Lot – across from George F Miller Drive
12:00 noon – meet at Brattleboro Farmer’s Market; 570 Western Avenue, Brattleboro
1:00 pm – meet at 250 Birge Street, Brattleboro, VT
2:00 pm – meet at Whetstone Pathway between Preston Lot (on Flat Street) and Brattleboro Co-op; 2 Main Street, Brattleboro

 

Please plan to meet at each site at the time indicated.  We will do this trip rain or shine but will cancel in heavy rain or lighting.
