Curious how our rivers generate electricity? Tour the West Springfield (MA) Hydroelectric Project on the Westfield River to learn more. Bob King, co-owner of the Project, will show us how hydroelectricity is generated and discuss how hydropower fits into today’s electric market. Connecticut River Conservancy will discuss impacts of hydropower on our rivers and fish, the pros and cons of this ‘green’ energy, and how CRC works to balance river use with river protection. This event is part of World Water Day, a global celebration of fresh, clean water.

Note: This tour requires a considerable amount of walking and stairs. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate those with mobility concerns.
