Glastonbury Water Chestnut Pull Party!
July 16, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT
Pull Together to Protect Keeney Cove with Free Live Music by Mixashawn and Free Use of Kayaks! (Glastonbury).
It’s time to pull together — enjoy the Afro-Algonquin sound waves of Lee Mixashawn Rozie while helping us protect the water waves of Keeney Cove from the invasive or displaced water chestnut
Lee Mixashawn Rozie is also known as The Wave Artist. Water chestnut is a harmful aquatic, invasive species or displaced relative that is known to take over stretches of water. When left unchecked, Mixashawn’s Afro-Algonquin waves have the potential to make you dance on water and renew yourself while water chestnuts have the potential to decimate ecosystems and their recreational opportunities. Join us at Keeney Cove in Glastonbury, CT on Saturday July 16 from 9am to 12pm as we celebrate and utilize art, science and human strength in working to restore the indigenous balance here in the Connecticut River while we decolonize our minds and water ways. Learn more about Mixashawn’s “Metaphysical Tourist” art HERE!
