Join CRC, ValleyBike, and Springfield partners* to celebrate Earth Day with a riverside bike ride in Springfield, MA.

Bring your own bike or hop on an e-bike, compliments of ValleyBike (up to 12 bikes will be available to those 16 and older).  We’ll start at the Kenefick Park ValleyBike station, cycle through the Brightwood neighborhood to the north end of the Connecticut River Walk and Bikeway, and enjoy a round trip ride along the trail.  Riders will stop to look and talk about issues affecting the river. Total length of the ride will be about 9-10 miles.  Kids who can cycle that distance on their own bike – accompanied by an adult – or ride on a tandem/tag-a-long/cargo bike with parents, are welcome.

Optional break-off group will do shorter ride to the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club and cleanup trash in the area. Indicate your interest on registration form.

We’re excited to have mechanics from RAD Springfield (Make-It Springfield’s community bike shop program), attending this event. If your bike needs air in the tires or small adjustments, arrive early for some help from RAD.

OPTIONAL: BYO lunch for picnic in Kenefick Park after the ride.

Rain date: Sunday, April 24 10 am-1pm

* CRC is pleased to partner on this event with ValleyBike, WalkBikeSpringfield, RAD Springfield, and the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club.
