The Connecticut River Conservancy has been working since 1952 to protect and restore New England’s Great River. We are an ambitious and committed organization that has been growing and changing over the past ten years as we expand our work in all four watershed states: VT, NH, MA, and CT. Our programs impact everyone who lives in or visits the 11,000 square mile watershed. That’s a lot of different people who engage with rivers in many different ways. Our work can be technical. Our work can be fun. Our work can be contentious. Our work can be inspiring. And our work is changing as we evaluate our mission in light of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
We are looking for our next Finance Director to implement a robust and efficient finance program that manages a diverse range of revenue and expenditures in a growing organization. You will provide oversight, coordination, and direct execution of all financial duties and responsibilities. You will build capacity for effective grant administration for all program staff through development of documentation, procedures, and training. You will support and lead a team of two staff accountants.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in non-profit finance administration including the development of systems, controls, budgeting, reporting, and forecasting.
- Experience in successfully managing large and complex state and federal awards and contracts including conduct of single-audits.
- Experience in training program staff in procedures, controls, and reporting.
- Ability to clearly explain financial information to staff, board, and the general public.
- CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred
We are committed to recruiting, hiring, and sustaining a diverse workforce. CRC offers generous paid leave, health and ancillary benefits and a retirement plan with employer match.
