Join us for a short and snappy virtual update on another good year of great work for rivers. We’ll report on the successes of last year and highlights of the coming year, say thank you to our outgoing trustees for their service, and vote on new trustees.

CRC members can vote on new Trustees:

  • Leslie Harris – After a distinguished 25-year nonprofit career, including building the Dakin Humane Society from a one-person operation into a successful regional animal welfare organization of 60+ employees, she retired to become the farm manager at Quonquont Farm in Whately, MA.
  • Steve Gephard – Retired CT Dept. of Energy & Environmental Protection fisheries biologist with a forty-year career managing the migratory fisheries program for the state of CT. He has worked extensively with CRC and many other conservation organizations to advance restoration, monitoring, and management strategies to rebuild important fish populations.
  • Tim Keeney (being re-elected) – A 5th-generation resident of Somers, CT with a long record of public service, including as a Navy SEAL officer for 35 years and numerous positions with the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration. Currently, he serves as Probate Judge for the North Central Connecticut region.

These three nominated candidates have been selected by the Board’s Governance Committee and are being nominated per our by-laws. Members may directly nominate trustees by petition of at least twenty-five members in good standing, sent to the Secretary of the organization. Feel free to reach out to Andy (afisk@ctriver.org) if you are interested in submitting a petition. We can help you with the process.
