Flush, rinse, drain. But where does it go? Tour MDC’s Hartford Water Pollution Control Facility, the largest wastewater treatment plant in Connecticut. See firsthand the engineering that runs 24/7 to treat our wastewater, protect our public health, and keep our rivers clean. Learn more about their Clean Water Project that is digging a 4 mile underground tunnel to prevent sewage from overflowing into our rivers. Connecticut River Conservancy will discuss impacts of treatment plants on our rivers and how CRC works to balance river use with river protection. This event is part of World Water Day, a global celebration of fresh, clean water.
